Singh ... ... for the State Mr. Billwadal Bhattacharyya, DSG Mr. Debasish Tendon ... ... for the NIA The issue raised in this public interest petition is that on 15th November, 2022 the altercation between two groups of a particular political party had taken place which has disturbed the normal life.

Submission of learned counsel for the petitioner is that in that altercation bombs were hurled, therefore investigation is required to be carried out by the NIA.

Learned Advocate General has informed that the Officer-in-Charge of the Police Station has already sent a report to the State Government in terms of Section 6(1) of the NIA Act and now the State Government will be forwarding the report to the Central Government in terms of Sub-section 2 of Section 6. Thereafter, it will be for the Central Government to take a decision in terms of Sub- section 3 of Section 6 of the Act. 2 The status report in this regard has been placed on record by the learned Advocate General.

The statement so made by the learned Advocate General adequately redresses the grievance of the petitioner. Hence, nothing further is required to be done in the matter. The petition is accordingly disposed of taking on record the stand of the State.
