                                   ORDER

1. The appellant filed an application under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act) before the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO), Allahabad Bank, seeking information on 35 points pertaining to the Priority Sector Lending Policy of RBI, including inter-alia (i) whether or not the Bank abides by the RBI guidelines, the Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI) code and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006 while disbursing collateral free loan to the priority sector customers like agriculture, MSME and to the weaker sections of the society and (ii) whether or not the Bank acts on the BCSBI code, RBI guidelines and MSMED Act, 2006 while disbursing collateral free loan upto the maximum limit under priority sector schemes, Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) and Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

2. The appellant filed a second appeal before the Commission on the grounds that the information sought has not been provided by the CPIO and that the FAA did not respond to his first appeal within the stipulated period. The appellant stated that the public authority is breaching the RTI Act just to conceal the required information.

3. The appellant Shri Nayanmoni Kalita and the respondent Shri Kamal Soreng, Senior Manager, Dhekargorah Branch, Jorhat attended the hearing through video conferencing.

4. The appellant submitted that he does not want to pursue the present second appeal and therefore, requested the Commission to close the current proceedings.

Decision:

5. The second appeal is hereby dismissed as 'Withdrawn'.

6. Copy of the decision be provided free of cost to the parties.
