39. State Government may fix date before which proprietor and manager must apply for registration. -
The [State Government] shall, within six months from the commencement of this Act, fix for each district the date or dates before which such proprietors and managers, being in possession of estates or revenue-free properties, or of any interest therein, respectively, at the commencement of this Act, shall be required to apply for registration of their names and of the character and extent of their interests, under the last preceding section; and may at any time alter any date so fixed, provided that no date so fixed shall be later than five years after the said commencement.
