Section 1 in The Karnataka Entertainments Tax Act, 1958
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the [Karnataka] [Adapted by the Karnataka Adaptations of Laws Order, 1973 w.e.f. 01.11.1973] Entertainments Tax Act, 1958.(2)It extends to the whole of the [State of Karnataka] [Adapted by the Karnataka Adaptations of Laws Order, 1973 w.e.f. 01.11.1973].(3)Section 19 shall come into force at once in the whole of the [State of Karnataka] [Adapted by the Karnataka Adaptations of Laws Order, 1973 w.e.f. 01.11.1973] and the rest of this Act shall come into force at once in the areas of the State in which any of the enactments repealed by section 19, was in force. All the provisions of this Act (except section 19) shall come into force in such other area or areas of the State from such [date] [Act came into force in all other areas of the State on 1.1.1959 by notification. Text of the notification is at the end of the Act] or dates as the State Government may by notification specify.
