Section 40 in The Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994
40. Enquiry in cases forwarded by a Magistrate.
- A Magistrate may direct an inquiry to be made under section 202 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), by a Gram Panchayat in any case in which the offence was committed within the territorial jurisdiction of such Gram Panchayat and the Gram Panchayat shall inquire into the case and submit its report to the said Magistrate.
