(1)There shall be established a University by the name the Periyar University.(2)The University shall be a body corporate, shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said name.(3)The headquarters of the University shall be located within the limits of the Salem City Municipal Corporation or in any place within the radius of twenty-five kilometres around those limits.
