96. Power of the Municipality in respect of control of public street.
(1)All Public streets, parking or transportation terminals, squares, parks and gardens vested in the Municipality shall be under the control of the Municipality who shall cause the same to be maintained improved, altered, closed, controlled and regulated to ensure public safety, convenience and movement of traffic and pedestrians in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules and regulations thereunder,(2)Municipality may classify public or private streets in accordance with such rules as may be made in this behalf.
