(b)Articles of small value, cooking utensils, and perishable articles shall be placed in the store room in charge of a responsible officer, to be restored on discharge, if this takes place within a year. After the expiry of this period such articles. shall be sold and the proceeds credited to the inmate's account; perishable articles may be so disposed of an earlier date under the order of the Superintendent.
