Section 35(1) in The Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats, Third Grade Municipalities, Municipalities and Corporations (Elections) Rules, 2006
(1)If a poll has to be taken, the Returning Officer shall appoint for each polling station one Presiding Officer, as many Polling Officers as may be authorised by the State Election Commission, and such other persons to assist the Presiding Officer.
