Section 188 in The Navy (Pay And Allowances) Regulations, 1966
188. For apprehension of deserters.
- Any person who apprehends a deserter from the Indian Navy, shall except when such deserter voluntarily surrenders before him, receive a reward of [one hundred rupees] [Substitued by S.R.O. 132, dated 9th May, 1989]. The amount of the reward and the cost of the deserter's or absentee's own railway fare or sea passage or both, as the case may be, shall be charged against the deserter's pay.
