Section 15A(2) in The Gauhati University Act, 1947
(2)If a member of the Selection Committee is unable to attend, he may send his opinion in writing to the vice-Chancellor and such opinion shall be taken into consideration by the Committee in making its recommendations.Explanation. - For the purpose of this section the co-opted members will be deemed to be members of the Selection Committee for the purpose for which they are co-opted.
