(1)Every officer of a prison, who shall be guilty of any violation, breach or neglect of any rule, regulation or lawful orders shall, -(a)in cases where such violation, breach or neglect constitutes an offence punishable under section 75 or 76 of this Act or under any other law for the time being in force, be liable on conviction before a Court of law, to be so punished;(b)in other cases, be liable to such punishment and in such manner as may be prescribed.
