Section 24 in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
24. The Director of Physical Plant.
(1)The Director of Physical Plant shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the approval of the Board.(2)The Director of Physical Plant shall have the following duties, namely :(a)to make arrangements for the purchase and maintenance of machinery and other equipment necessary for the purpose of the University;(b)to make arrangements for the maintenance and constructions of the buildings, and other structures of the University ;(c)to be responsible for the maintenance of the lawns, grounds and gardens of the University campus ;(d)he shall be general custodian of all University property ; and(e)such other duties as may be prescribed or as may be assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor.
