Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding setting up of National Investment and Manufacturing Zone in Palakkad district of Kerala.
KUMARI RAMYA HARIDAS (ALATHUR):It was decided by the Government to acquire 470 acres of land at Kallingalpadam, Pathalampadam, Marygiri, Valluvechapara in Kannabra Village at Alathur Taluk in Palakkad District, Kerala for National Investment and Manufacturing Zone under Coimbatore — Kochi Industrial Corridor, and a sum of Rs. 2,000 crore was also allocated for this purpose. A Gazette notification had been issued in the month of July 2017 for acquiring around 320 acres of land at said places. A study report on Sun heat was also done and the report is with the Government. However, after all these developments, no further action has been taken in this regard. Therefore, I urge upon the government to speed up acquisition of land, fix and give one time compensation to land owners as per 2013 Act, land acquisition to be done without classification and rehabilitate the land owners whose land will be acquired for the said industrial corridor.
