Section 2(2) in The Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats, Third Grade Municipalities, Municipalities and Corporations (Elections) Rules, 2006
(2)Words and expressions used, but not defined in these rules shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act. In the absence of such meaning, the Tamil Nadu General Clauses Act, 1891 (Tamil Nadu Act I of 1891) shall apply for the interpretation of these rules, as it applies for the interpretation of a Tamil Nadu Act.
