63. Power of Government to require Planning and Development Authority to make a scheme.
(1)Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing provisions of this Chapter, the Government may, after making such inquiry as it deems necessary, by notification, require any Planning and Development Authority to make and publish in the prescribed manner and submit for its sanction, a draft scheme in respect of any land in regard to which a town planning scheme may be made under section 57.(2)If the Planning and Development Authority fails to make a scheme within three months from the date of direction under sub-section (1), the Government may, by notification, appoint an officer to make and submit a draft scheme to the Government, and thereupon the provisions of this Act shall, so far as may be, apply to the making of such scheme.
