Section 14 in The Sikh Gurdwaras Board Election Rules, 1959

14. Notification of symbols.

(1)The [Chief Commissioner, Gurudwara Elections] [The words 'State Government' substituted by Central Government Notification dated 26.7.1978.] shall by notification in the official Gazette, publish a list of symbols and may in like manner add to or vary such list.
(2)In each constituency every nomination paper delivered under rule 15 shall also be accompanied by a declaration in writing specifying the particular symbol which the candidate has chosen for his first preference out of the list of symbols published under sub-rule (1) and also specifying two other symbols out of that list which he has chosen for his second and third preference, respectively :Provided that the choice to be made by a candidate under this sub-rule shall be subject to such restrictions as the [Chief Commissioner, Gurudwara Elections] [The words 'State Government' substituted by Central Government Notification dated 26.7.1978.] may think fit to impose in that behalf.
