Section 13(1) in The U. P. Protection of Trees Act, 1976
(1)Any Forest Officer not below the rank of a Forest Ranger or police officer, not below the rank of a Sub-Inspector, may without a warrant, arrest any person against whom there is reason to believe that he has been concerned in any offence under this Act :Provided that in relation to the hill area the reference to Sub-Inspector in this sub-section shall be construed as a reference to Naib-Tehsildar.
