(2)The log-book shall be examined and signed by a responsible officer at the close of each month showing the total fuel and oil consumed during the month, the total distance covered and the average kilo meterage of per liter of fuel or oil consumed. It shall then be put up to the Controlling Officer, who shall examine and satisfy himself that the average consumption of fuel and oil is reasonable, and countersign it. If the consumption of fuel or oil is high, he will take immediate steps to look into the causes and take suitable steps.
