Section 24(2) in The Punjab Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989
(2)If the licensing finds the application for renewal of a conductor's licence in order, it may renew the same by making an entry to that effect in the licence and renewal shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of the expiry of the licence :Provided that if the authority renewing the licence is not the authority, which issued the licence, the authority renewing the licence shall intimate the fact of renewal to the authority which issued the licence.
