2. Earlier stay was granted for six months vide a consolidated order dated 2/5/2014. The stay earlier granted has expired and appeals have not been heard, therefore, the respective assessees are seeking extension of stay. It is their case that though these appeals were fixed for hearing for various 6 SA NO.325 /MUM/2014&OTHERS dates but they have been adjourned for various reasons as stated in the table described in the stay applications. It is also the case of the assessee that on none of the dates the assessee has sought adjournment. The appeals are now fixed for hearing on 16/12/2014. Thus, it is the prayer in all these applications that the extension of stay should be granted.
3. We have heard both the parties. As the respective assessees have never sought adjournment and appeals are also listed for hearing on 16/12/2014, we are of the opinion that it will serve the interest of justice if the stay is extended for a further period of six months or the early disposal of the appeals whichever is earlier. Accordingly, we extend the stay.
4. In the result, the stay applications filed by the respective assessees are allowed in the manner aforesaid.
