Section 7(1)(e) in The U.P. Exercise Books Order, 1977

(e)search any premises, vehicle or vessel and prepare any inventory or any exercise books found therein, or seize any exercise books in respect of which he has reason to believe that a contravention of this Order has been, is being, or is about to be committed and thereafter take or authorise the taking of all measures necessary after securing the production of stock so seized in court and for its safe custody pending such production;
