Section 39 in Siliguri Municipal Corporation Act, 1990
39. General qualifications for being elected Councilor or Alderman.
- A person shall not be qualified for being elected a Councilor or Alderman, if he-(a)is not entitled to vote at the election for any constituency of the Corporation; or(b)is under twenty-one years of age; or(c)is an officer or employee of the Corporation; or(d)has any share or interest, direct or indirect, in any contract or employment with, by or on behalf of, the Corporation; or(e)has not paid any sum certified by the auditors to be due from him.
