Section 239(5) in The Punjab Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989
(5)The officer incharge of the police station of a Government Department, shall ensure that the vehicle in question is kept in safe custody alongwith the goods contained therein, if any, at the time of keeping the same in his custody.
