Section 14(ii) in The U.P. Excise (Prohibition) Group 'D' Service Rules, 1978
(ii)The selection committee shall consider the cases of all the candidates eligible for promotion with reference to the character rolls and other relevant records with a view to judging their suitability for the post of driver (Heavy Vehicles). If necessary, the committee may also interview all or any of the candidates.
