Section 1 in East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949.(2)It extends to all urban areas in [Punjab] [Substituted for 'East Punjab' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] but nothing herein contained shall be deemed to affect the regulation of house accommodation in any Cantonment area.(3)It shall come into force at once.
