Section 156 in Criminal Court Rules of the High Court of Judicature at Patna

156.

The records of decided cases shall be retained in the Record Rooms of the Courts to which they appertain or of the superior Court of the district, and shall not be allowed to pass out of the custody of the officers of such Courts, except when called for by superior Judicial authority, or required for the purposes of Order XIII, rule 10 of the Code of Civil Procedure by a Civil Court. It is improper and inconvenient that records of the Courts of Justice should be sent to other public officers or functionaries. If a reference to their contents is required the proper procedure is ordinarily to obtain copies of the requisite papers. [G. L. 3/49]
