(2)[ (a) Any registered practitioner to whom a certificate of registration is issued before the 9th day of November 1972, and such certificate is still in operation, may, at any time, by an application in writing, accompanied by such certificate (in original) and a fee of five rupees, apply to the Registrar for issue of a fresh certificate of registration in lieu of the certificate issued earlier.(b)on receipt of such application, the Registrar shall cancel such certificate and issue a fresh certificate of registration in the form prescribed by rules made under sub-section (10) of section 17.] ]
