Section 15(1) in The Maharashtra Management of Irrigation Systems by Farmers Rules, 2006
(1)The Water User's Association at all levels shall take all possible measures to keep ground water table in its area of operation within 3 meters from ground level, to avoid the incidents of salinity and water logging. The Water User's Association shall duly promote the use of ground water to meet these objectives.
