(c)The seniority of person promoted to the rank of subordinate or under officer shall be determined in the following manner, namely:--(i)before confirmation every such officer shall take his seniority from the date of his continuously holding such rank; and(ii)on confirmation, he shall take his seniority from the date of such confirmation:
