Section 50 in Land Registration Act, 1876

50. Notice to transferor. -

If the application alleges that the applicant has acquired possession of the interest in respect of which he applies to be registered by transfer from any living person, a copy of such notice shall be served on the alleged transferor by tendering to the person to whom it may be directed a copy thereof attested by the Collector, or by delivering such copy at the usual place of abode of such person, or to some adult male member of his family; or, in case it cannot be so served, by posting such copy upon some conspicuous part of the usual or last known place of abode of such person.In case such notice cannot be served in any of the ways hereinbefore mentioned, it shall be served in such way as the Collector issuing such notice may direct.No fees or other costs shall be payable by the applicant in respect of the service or publication of the notice prescribed by this and the last preceding section.
