Section 96 in Calcutta Port Act, 1890

96. Penally for landing or shipping good after publication of order.- Whoever shall, after such order has been so published as aforesaid, land or ship, or attempt to land or ship, any goods in contravention of such order, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred rupees for every day that he shall so land or ship any goods in contravention of the said order:

Provided that, notwithstanding anything in this or in sections 92, 93 and 94 contained, it shall be lawful for the 2[Central Government] by notification in the 3[Official Gazette], from time to time, if it shall so think fit, to declare that certain specified vessels or classes of vessels shall be permitted to discharge or ship goods or that certain specified goods or classes of goods shall be permitted to be landed or shipped elsewhere, and at such part of the Port of Calcutta and for such time and on such conditions as it may think fit.
