- In addition to or in substitution of the punishments provided in the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, the competent authority, may inflict, the punishment of extra drill up to the maximum period of one hour a day for not more than seven consecutive days on a Jail Guard/Head guard. Where the punishment of extra drill is in substitution of the punishment provided in the said Rules, the Superintendent of the Prison shall be the competent authority to inflict it.
