Section 18(2)(b) in The U.P. Co-operative Societies Act, 1965

(b)The number of sympathiser members in a society shall at no time exceed five per cent of the total number of ordinary members and the number of sympathiser members on the committee of management shall neither exceed two nor ten per cent of their total membership in the society nor even one-fifth of the total number of members on the committee of management.
