1. Leave granted.

2. Appellant challenges the judgment and order dated 01.10.2024 in WA No.2489/2021 passed by the High Court of Judicature at Madras, titled “M. Rajakumar vs. The Presiding Officer & Ors.”.

3. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material on record, we are of the view that the interest of justice would be best served by disposing of the present appeal in the following terms:

a) All proceedings inter se the parties shall come to an end;
b) Respondents shall pay a sum of Rs.10,00,000/-

(Rupees ten lakhs only) as lump-sum to the appellant within a period of three months, failing which the amount shall carry an interest at the Signature Not Verified rate of six per cent per annum;
