Section 97(a) in The U.P. Co-operative Societies Rules, 1968
(a)The quorum for a meeting under sub-section (4) of Section 15 shall be one-third of the total number of members of the general body of all the co-operative societies concerned and where the general meeting is adjourned for want of such quorum, the adjourned meeting may be held with the permission of the Registrar with the reduced quorum of one-fifth only; provided that the members of the general body of the concerned societies have been informed in writing of the fact of the reduced quorum.
