(1)Every ship carrying [special trade passengers] [ Inserted by Act 69 of 1976, Section 12 (w.e.f. 1.12.1976).] and crew not exceeding one thousand in number, shall have on board as part of her complement at least one medical officer possessing such qualifications as may be prescribed.
