Facts:
1. The appeals were scheduled for hearing on 5th August, 2010, but the appellant did not avail of the opportunity of personal hearing. The appellant has submitted three separate appeals, which are examined together.
2. Through separate applications, the appellant has asked for details of travel expenditure incurred on Trade Union Leaders, who are identified in the RTI applications. The CPIO has replied and furnished partial information. There is however no denial of information u/s 8 (1) of the Act. Being dis-satisfied with CPIO's response, the appellant has pleaded for providing the complete information.
Decision:
3. The public expenditure on any public activity including payment of TA/DA to officials should ideally be put in public domain. Though the CPIO has replied and furnished the information, the appellant does'nt seem to be satisfied with the response. The appellant is therefore advised to seek inspection of relevant 1 records and files containing the details of expenditure incurred on various activities including the payment of TA/DA and other related expenses on officials identified in the RTI applications. The CPIO is directed to allow inspection of relevant records on a date and time convenient to both the parties within 10 days from the date of receipt of this decision. If any information is to be refused u/s 8 (1) of the Act, the grounds for doing so should be indicated for review, if necessary, by the Commission.
4. All the appeals are thus disposed of.
