Section 72 in West Bengal Municipal (Employees' Service) Rules, 2010

72. Quarantine leave

.- Quarantine leave is leave of absence from duty necessitated by orders not to attend office in consequence of the presence of an infectious disease in the family or household of an employee. Such leave may be granted on production of a medical certificate from the Medical Officer in charge of a Government/Municipality/Notified Area Authority Hospital or dispensary situated nearest to his place of duty for a period not exceeding 21 days on any occasion or in exceptional circumstances, 30 days. Any leave, necessary for quarantine purposes in excess of this period shall be treated as ordinary leave. Quarantine leave, subject to the above maximum, may also be granted, when necessary, in continuation of other leave. No substitute should be appointed in place of an employee in his absence on quarantine leave. An employee on quarantine leave shall not be treated as absent from duty and his pay shall not be intermitted.
