Facts:­ 

1.  The appellant Shri N. Hemraj preferred RTI  application  dated 6.6.2008 before the CPIO, LIC of India, Chennai seeking  information regarding  non receipt  of Cheque No. 316057  dated  1.11.2006 with reference to his Policy No. 792338735. 

2. Not receiving response from the CPIO, the appellant filed  complaint   before   the   Commission   in   response   to   which  Commission   issued   notice   to   respondent   dated   16.6.2010.  Hearing     was   scheduled   for   27.7.2010.     Meanwhile   Commission  has received letter dated 20.7.2010 from the appellant   that  the subject matter of his RTI application has been redressed  satisfactorily by the respondents and he withdraws his appeal  preferred   before   the   Commission.       Commission   has   also  received   a   letter   from   the   respondents     dated   21.7.2010  explaining that the application preferred by the appellant was  submitted   with   Rs.   10/­   court   fees   stamp   which   is   not  acceptable   mode  of   payment   under   the   RTI   Act.     However,  the  Corporation treating the letter as grievance letter has taken  suitable   action   for   redressal     and   has   satisfied   the  appellant. 

Decision 

 3. In view of the above, the penalty proceedings are dropped  and the case is closed at the Commission's end.
