Petitioner-Avtar Singh belongs to Physically Handicap Category being visually blind and is working as a Chair Caner in the Department of Social Welfare since 17.04.1998.
By filing the present petition, petitioner is seeking the directions to the respondents to consider his case for promotion to the post of Clerk as per three per cent (3%) reservation for recruitment/promotion to Punjab Govt. Disabled employees.
At the time of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner states that vide order dated 08.05.2017 issued by the Director, Scheduled Caste and Backward Class, Social Welfare Deptt., Punjab, Chandigarh, the petitioner has been promoted as Clerk, therefore, nothing more survives in the present petition as the same has become infructuous.
Dismissed as infructuous.
