ORDINARY ORIGINAL CIVIL JURISDICTION
ARBITRATION PETITION NO.1492 OF 2019
Eros International Media Limited ...Petitioner
Versus
Firoz A Nadiadwala ...Respondent
Mr Aditya Bapat, with Rohan Bangar i/b Zunjarrao & Co., for the
Petitioner.
Ms Manisha Desai, i/b MP Vashi & Associates, for the Respondent.
CORAM: G.S. PATEL, J.
DATED: 6th January 2020 PC:-
1. The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking an extension of the arbitral mandate. The arbitration is before Mr Cyrus Ardeshir, learned Advocate of this Court. He was appointed as an arbitrator by an order dated 19th January 2018. The learned sole arbitrator entered upon the reference to his arbitration. The matter has proceeded before him and there have been hearings up to August 2018. Parties initially agreed to an extension of six months but it seems that from August 2018 until August 2019, the parties were in settlement negotiations. The stage of the arbitration is that the cross-examination of the claimants' frst witness is yet pending completion. 2. The petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
