Section 16C(3) in The Plantations Labour Act, 1951
(3)No application for compensation under this section shall be entertained unless it is made within six months of the collapse of the house:Provided that the Commissioner may, if he is satisfied that the applicant was prevented by sufficient cause from making the application within the aforesaid period of six months, entertain such application within a further period of six months.Explanation .-In this section, the expression "dependant" has the meaning assigned to it in clause (d) of section 2 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1923 (8 of 1923).
