Section 1(5) in West Bengal Municipal Corporation Act, 2006
(5)Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (2), the provisions of this Act shall apply to the district of Darjeeling or any part thereof, subject to such exceptions and modifications as the State Government may, by notification direct:Provided that nothing in this Act shall be construed to affect the powers of the Autonomous Hill Council for the hill areas specified under sub-section (1) of section 31 of the Darjeeling Gorkha Autonomous Hill Council Act, 1988 (West Ben. Act XIII of 1988).
