Seventeenth Loksabha an> Title: Need to give same compensation for projects as given in case of Bullet Train Project in Valsad Parliamentary Constituency, Gujarat.
DR. K.C. PATEL (VALSAD): Hon. Chairperson, Sir, I am very much thankful to you and hon. Prime Minister, adarniya Narendra Bhai Modi, on behalf of the people and farmers of my district Valsad, and Navsari.
In my constituency Valsad, and Navsari District, three major projects are there – Vadodra-Mumbai Express Highway; Bullet Train Project; and a Freight Corridor. With regard to the express highway, we had an online virtual meeting with hon. Nitin Gadkari saheb. Three MLAs from my constituency and Collector of the district were present in that meeting.
Sir, in my district, we are going to lose six lakh mango trees. You know that alphonso mangoes grown in our district are famous in the world. So, we have given three alternatives with regard to the express highway to hon. Gadkari sir. The coastal highway from Vadodra to Bharuch may be converted into express highway. They have already taken it on the coastal side. National Highway No. 48 may be elevated as an express highway. National Highway No. 56, passing through the forest area, may be used as an express highway.
In this meeting, we had requested that the same compensation should be given which is being given in the case of Bullet Train Project, that is, four times, and compensation rates should be revised. We have also requested that a re-survey of the mango trees should be done in my district. Our District Collector is authorised for the proceeding.
