Section 1005(b) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(b)In the application for permission to return arms, component parts of arms or other ordnance stores, it shall be distinctly noted whether the arms, etc., to be returned are-(i)surplus over requirements ;(ii)unserviceable and to be replaced by others ;(iii)for repairs and reissue.
