(h)a progressive rise in the area surrendered or abandoned by the tenants.(ii)in some cases adequate explanations of variations in figures will be found in the notes recorded in the registers concerned, while in other cases the registers will show only that some unfavourable tendency is at work, the causes to which have to be ascertained and remedial measures taken where possible.
