Section 254(a) in Rajasthan Land Revenue (Land Records) Rules, 1957
(a)The rain water in the gauge should be measured every day at 8-30 A.M. and the rain-gauge should be examined every day at that hour even when in the observer's opinion no rain has fallen. During heavy rains it must be measured three or four times in a day, lest the receiver fills and overflows but the last measurement should be taken at 8-30 A.M. and the total sum of all the measurements during the previous 24 hours entered as the rainfall of the day.
