Sixteenth Loksabha an> Title: Need to give financial assistance to technical institutions under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. SHRI R. DHRUVANARAYANA (CHAMARAJANAGAR): Sir, I want to raise an important issue regarding lack of funding to technical institutions which come under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers. There are two institutions. One is called CIPET – Central Institute for Plastic Engineering and Technology and another one is NIPER – National Institute for Pharmaceutical Education and Research. CIPET has its centres at Vijaywada, Bhopal and Valsad. These centres do not have academic building, hostel building and technical infrastructure. So, they are functioning out of rented building. For CIPET, the enrolment during 2014-15 was of 12,629 students for long-term training, but only 2,340 students completed it. HON. CHAIRPERSON: Please mention your demand.

Sir, NIPER has its centres at Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Raibareilly and Madurai. They also do not have any infrastructure. So, I would urge upon the Union Government, especially the Ministry of Finance, to provide adequate funds to these centres so that they may develop their infrastructure. HON. CHAIRPERSON :
