Section 23(2) in The Mizo District (Forest) Act, 1955
(2)causes any damage by negligence in felling any tree or cutting or dragging timber;shall be punished with fine which may extend to fifty rupees, or when damage resulting from his offence amounts to more than twenty-five rupees, double the amount of-such damage.
